Echo Pure Whole House Water Filtration System
The Echo Pure Whole House Water Filtration System is a customizable, high-capacity water filtration solution designed to reduce unwanted contaminants throughout the home. Installed at the main water supply, the system filters incoming water before it reaches household faucets, showers, and water-using appliances. Available in four filtration configurations—Essential, Plus, Premium, and Elite—the Echo Pure allows homeowners to select contaminant reduction based on their water-quality needs, with optional salt-based softening, salt-free conditioning, and UV purification for additional water treatment.
Four Filtration Levels for Different Water Quality Needs
The Echo Pure offers four distinct filtration configurations, each designed to address specific water-quality concerns:
-
Echo Pure Essential: Foundational chlorine reduction using activated carbon filtration to improve everyday water taste and odor.
-
Echo Pure Plus: Expanded filtration targeting chlorine, chloramine, certain pesticides and herbicides, and sediment.
-
Echo Pure Premium: Advanced filtration for chlorine, chloramine, PFAS, and lead, incorporating a dedicated 0.5-micron carbon block filter.
-
Echo Pure Elite: The most comprehensive filtration configuration, building on Premium with additional fluoride and arsenic reduction.
This tiered approach allows homeowners to choose appropriate filtration capabilities without purchasing unnecessary treatment components.
Whole House Water Filter and Softener Options
For homes experiencing hard water or mineral scale buildup, the Echo Pure offers optional water treatment systems that complement its filtration capabilities.
The salt-based water softener reduces hardness minerals through ion exchange, helping limit scale accumulation in plumbing fixtures and water-using appliances. The salt-free conditioning system provides an alternative approach to managing scale formation without conventional salt-based softening.
Both options allow homeowners to address water hardness and filtration needs within a coordinated whole-home water treatment system.
Optional Whole House UV Water Purification
Every Echo Pure filtration configuration can be paired with an optional UV water purification system for additional protection against microorganisms.
UV technology uses ultraviolet light to inactivate susceptible bacteria and viruses as water passes through the treatment chamber. This provides a separate purification process that complements the contaminant-reduction capabilities of the selected filtration configuration.
The UV option is especially relevant for households seeking an additional microbial treatment stage as part of their whole-house water filtration system.
High-Capacity Filtration for Everyday Home Use
Designed for residential water supplies, the Echo Pure combines high-performance filtration media, durable filter construction, and a modular configuration that accommodates different household requirements. Its filtration technology is engineered to support consistent water flow while reducing targeted contaminants.
By treating incoming water at its source, the system supports cleaner water for drinking, cooking, showering, laundry, and everyday household use. With four filtration levels and selectable water treatment options, the Echo Pure provides a flexible foundation for improving water quality throughout the home.

Product FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Echo Pure Whole House Water Filtration System?
The Echo Pure Whole House Water Filtration System is a point-of-entry water filtration system designed to reduce selected contaminants before water is distributed throughout the home. It offers four filtration configurations—Essential, Plus, Premium, and Elite—with progressively broader contaminant-reduction capabilities. Homeowners can also add salt-based water softening, salt-free water conditioning, or UV purification based on their water-quality needs.
What is the difference between Echo Pure Essential, Plus, Premium, and Elite?
The four Echo Pure configurations differ primarily in the contaminants they are designed to reduce. Essential targets chlorine, while Plus adds filtration for chloramine, sediment, and certain pesticides and herbicides. Premium incorporates a dedicated 0.5-micron carbon block filter for PFAS and lead reduction. Elite provides the broadest filtration configuration, adding specialized fluoride and arsenic reduction. Optional water treatment and UV purification can be selected with any configuration.
Does the Echo Pure whole house water filter remove PFAS and lead?
Yes, the Echo Pure Premium and Elite configurations are specifically designed to reduce PFAS and lead. Both include a dedicated 0.5-micron carbon block filter targeting these contaminants. Essential and Plus do not include this dedicated filtration stage. Customers concerned about PFAS or lead should evaluate Premium or Elite based on their water test results and household requirements.
Does the Echo Pure water filtration system remove chlorine and chloramine?
Echo Pure offers chlorine and chloramine reduction depending on the selected filtration configuration. Essential provides foundational chlorine filtration, while Plus adds a dedicated chloramine filter. Premium and Elite also target chlorine and chloramine alongside additional contaminants. The appropriate configuration depends on the disinfectants used by the local water supplier and the contaminants present in the incoming water.
Which Echo Pure system removes fluoride and arsenic?
Echo Pure Elite is the configuration designed to reduce fluoride and arsenic. It includes a specialized filtration stage in addition to the sediment, chlorine, and PFAS/lead filters. Fluoride and arsenic reduction can depend on source-water chemistry and operating conditions, so testing the incoming water and confirming compatibility with Echo Water is important before selecting Elite for these contaminants.
Does the Echo Pure system include a water softener?
A water softener is available as an optional upgrade rather than a standard component of every Echo Pure system. Customers can select conventional salt-based softening, salt-free water conditioning, or no additional water treatment. The salt-based system reduces hardness minerals such as calcium and magnesium, while salt-free conditioning focuses on managing scale formation without conventional ion-exchange softening.
What is the difference between salt-based and salt-free water treatment?
Salt-based water softeners use ion exchange to remove hardness minerals, helping reduce mineral scale and improve hard-water performance. Salt-free water conditioners use a different process to manage scale formation without removing hardness minerals in the same way. For households experiencing significant hardness, the choice depends on water chemistry, maintenance preferences, and whether actual hardness reduction or scale management is the primary goal.
Does the Echo Pure whole house water filter kill bacteria and viruses?
The standard Echo Pure filtration configurations should not be considered substitutes for a dedicated microbial disinfection system. Optional UV purification is available with Essential, Plus, Premium, and Elite to provide an additional treatment stage designed to inactivate susceptible microorganisms, including bacteria and viruses. UV effectiveness depends on appropriate system sizing, water clarity, operating conditions, and maintenance.
Can the Echo Pure Whole House Water Filtration System be used with well water?
Echo Pure may be suitable for certain well-water applications, but well water should be tested before selecting a filtration configuration. Private wells can contain varying levels of iron, manganese, sediment, microorganisms, and other substances that require specific treatment. Echo Water recommends evaluating source-water conditions to determine system compatibility and whether additional pretreatment or specialized filtration is necessary.
Will a whole house water filtration system reduce water pressure?
A whole house water filtration system can introduce some pressure loss as water passes through its filter cartridges. Actual effects depend on the selected Echo Pure configuration, household water demand, incoming pressure, cartridge condition, and plumbing installation. Because individual cartridge flow ratings do not establish the complete system's flow capacity, homeowners should confirm system sizing for their household's expected water usage.
How often do Echo Pure whole house water filters need to be replaced?
Echo Pure filter replacement intervals vary by cartridge type and water conditions. Echo Water generally estimates approximately one to three years for certain sediment and chlorine filters, while chloramine, PFAS/lead, and fluoride/arsenic cartridges are typically rated for replacement around once per year. Actual service life depends on incoming water quality, contaminant levels, and household consumption. Follow the current manufacturer maintenance recommendations for each installed component.
Where is the Echo Pure water filtration system installed?
The Echo Pure is installed on the home's main incoming cold-water line, typically in a basement, utility room, or mechanical space before the water heater. Individual filtration housings measure approximately 40 inches tall, while the optional salt-based water softener reaches approximately 62 inches in height and includes a separate brine tank. Installation requires appropriate space for plumbing connections, equipment access, and future maintenance. Professional installation is recommended.
For proper setup, operation, and ongoing use, please refer to the Echo User Manual included with your unit. The manual provides step-by-step guidance on installation, program selection, safety considerations, and recommended usage to help ensure consistent and appropriate performance over time.
For additional assistance, Echo Water provides live, U.S.-based customer support to help with setup questions, operating guidance, troubleshooting, maintenance, and warranty-related inquiries.

General Questions
